Nick serves as the Broker and Owner of Mountainside Realty, a Colorado Based Real Estate firm. In this capacity, he works to provide resources for people who are looking for alternative housing options, such as earth or straw bale constructed homes. Additionally, he is a green realtor with the National Association of Realtors, a designation which aids in understanding the complexity of green construction. With several years of excellence to his credit in events production, Mr. Nevares works tirelessly to uplift the community through producing and sponsoring area events throughout the year. The most complex of these events he continues to serve in his 5th year as the producer for The Crestone Energy Fair, the longest running sustainability fair in the country, highlighting innovation in construction, agriculture and energy production. www.crestoneenergyfair.org.
Before starting his present role, Mr. Nevares began his career as a sales manager for Mardi Gras Productions (MGP) in 2004, expertly crafting complex events, from Mardi Gras Balls to corporate events. After his tenure with MGP, he functioned as a Senior Account Executive for BBC Destination Management in 2006, where he created experiences for corporate groups from around the world. During that time, he served both on the board and became president of the New Orleans chapter of the International Special Events Society (ISES) and received the designation of "Rising Star of the year" by the Association of Destination Management Professionals International, as well as received the professional designation "Certified Meeting Professional" (CMP) from Meeting Professionals International. In 2011, he became the Director of Event Experiences at the Solomon Group, where he helped build a client base designing and producing exceptional events for the new company that included prestigious clients such as CBS, Essence Music Festival, the NBA, and hundreds of others. He was named as one of Gambit Magazine's top "40 under 40" business professionals in New Orleans in 2012, and travelled around the country speaking about emerging event technologies at event conferences.
Mr. Nevares found himself experiencing a great deal of burnout in 2015 and began to practice Reiki, a form of energy healing. Following this, he spent two years engaging in volunteer work with various homeless shelters and soup kitchens in the southwest, before arriving in Crestone, CO.
Prior to embarking on his professional journey, Mr. Nevares earned a Bachelor of Arts in World Religions and English Literature from Loyola University New Orleans in 2004. He discovered he enjoyed Real Estate through a friend's recommendation and was uniquely suited to it due to his productivity, mentality, self-discipline and outgoing personality. Looking toward the future, he plans to continue to building upon the success of his firm, while also helping the Crestone community.
